ABCA7 (UniProt: Q8IZY2)

ATP-Binding Cassette transporter A7 (ABCA7), expressed by both neuron and microglia cells in the human brain, regulates lipid metabolism1 and promotes the clearance of β-amyloid (Aβ) peptides2. The variants of ABCA7 could increase the risk of AD from 80% to 400% reported in Africans and European ancestry populations3,4,5.
