MAPT (UniProt: P10636)
The main function of the Microtubule Associated Protein Tau (MAPT) protein is to stabilise the microtubule1. The hyperphosphorylated tau will detach from the microtubule, resulting in the destabilisation of cellular skeleton and the aggregation of the neurofibrillary tangles2.
