MAPT (UniProt: P10636)

The main function of the Microtubule Associated Protein Tau (MAPT) protein is to stabilise the microtubule¹. The hyperphosphorylated tau will detach from the microtubule, resulting in the destabilisation of cellular skeleton and the aggregation of the neurofibrillary tangles².
